Brown Manufacturing Company produced more than one million of the boards, shipping them all from right here in Clinton, Missouri. The boards and the company helped provide employment within the county as nearly 4000 boards were produced a day. Chinker Chek provided entertainment to many. The boards were taken overseas by the USO during the war to entertain the troops; and even Clark Gable was said to enjoy a good game of Chinker Chek! Today you will often spot these boards in antique malls and at swap meets, but they still provide timeless fun.
